Hanny's academic interests reside in the realm of computational biology and bioinformatics. He will relish a research expedition leading to a doctorate applying computational and statistical methods such as machine learning, neural networks and pattern recognition to elucidate the organization and function of complex biological systems. Hanny is deeply fascinated by the development of novel algorithms to find pattern in, analyze and visualize large data sets from biological experiments, text and video. With huge passion, he hopes to use this knowledge to solve problems in genomics, viral and cancer genetics, antibodies, vaccines and rational drug design and discovery, and virtually any area involving large amounts of data.

Currently he is working on his tech start-up called Metroflame specializing in the development of consumer web and mobile applications in social media. He is exploring the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in these applications. You can find more about what he is working on at Ideas.labs()
